Ardagh Tournament

We were in Ardagh last friday,first in the ring was John Reilly,it was a scrappy affair and could of gone either way , but John just lost out by a majority decision to Moran from Midfield, John can only improve as the season progresse's. Leszwek was in next and he was in against a fellow pole with a greater reach and weight advantage, Leszwek boxed clever and caught his man with the clearer scoring punches, taking the bout by a unanimous decision. Kyle was in against the bigger powerful Phelim Palligan from midfield, Kyle scored well with a fast left jab and body combinations, also taking the bout by unanimous verdict. looking nice and sharp for the upcoming Inters next weekend in Dublin.......watch some video clips of all these bouts on you tube...kyle..........

Tournament in Kiltimagh

Geesala had 3 boxers in the show at kiltimagh, darren timlin was first in the ring, he got three good rounds in but the decision did'nt go his way. Second into the ring was David barrett who fought pat ward from St Anthonys tuam,it was a tough battle and Davids more accurate scoring took the honours for him. Kyle holmes was our last man in, kyle boxing was excellent keeping his opponent jimmy sweeney from Sligo at long range scoring well with his jab. This contest will put kyle in good form for the upcoming intermediates in Dublin. Overall a good night for geesala boxing club.

Kyle Holmes for U 21 Championships

Geesala Boxer and Irish Champion Kyle Holmes is bound for Dublin's National Stadium this week end. Kyle will be attempting to add the National Under 21 title to his CV. He is entered in the 75kg. class and will be renewing rivalry with old foes like Martin Lynch Illies G.G. Keith Boyle St Saviour's OBA. and also fellow Connacht men Noel Higgins and Donal Ward from the Loughglynn Club.
